Nato nel mwcgborgo londinese di Hackney, si è avviato inizialmente nella carriera di mwcwproduttore discografico, ma poi, grazie a mwdaSimon Cowell, ha firmato un contratto da artista per l'etichetta mwdqSyco.

Nel marzo 2010 ha fatto il suo ingresso nella mweqOfficial Singles Chart col brano mwegmwewPass Out, realizzato in collaborazione col rapper mwfaTinie Tempah. Ha collaborato in diverse occasioni con Tinie Tempah, soprattutto in due hit (mwfqmwfgFrisky e appunto mwfwPass Out) presenti nell'album mwgamwgqDisc-Overy (2010). In particolare mwggPass Out ha ottenuto un successo davvero notevole, vendendo oltre mwgw600 000 copie in UK e ricevendo il premio di Best British Single ai mwhaBrit Awards 2011.cite-ref-1[1]cite-ref-2[2]

Il successo ottenuto come produttore gli permette di firmare un contratto come interprete per la mwjgSyco di mwjwSimon Cowell nel 2010.cite-ref-3[3] Il primo singolo da solista di Labrinth è uscito nel settembre 2010 ed è mwlaLet the Sun Shine: in tale annata l'artista ha comunque continuato a scrivere per colleghi come mwlqProfessor Green e mwlgDizzee Rascal.
